Click Medical had the honor of attending the inaugural Rebuild Ukraine Conference for Health and Rehabilitation, held on June 24th and 25th in Warsaw, Poland. This significant event is a social project dedicated to restoring the human capital and medical infrastructure of Ukraine, a country deeply affected by the ongoing conflict.
The Current Landscape
The current war in Ukraine has had a profound impact, with an estimated 2 million veterans and civilians affected. Among them, over 50,000 adults and children have lost limbs, highlighting the urgent need for comprehensive rehabilitation services. The Ukrainian government has earmarked $144 million for state financing of rehabilitation in 2024, underlining the scale of the challenge and the commitment to addressing it.
A Shared Vision
The primary goal of the conference is to reintegrate war-wounded individuals into active life, a mission that aligns seamlessly with Click Medical’s vision to empower millions of people with physical limitations to reach their peak potential. However, the learnings from the event underscored the reality that true “rebuilding” may be a long way off as long as the conflict continues. Despite these challenges, several organizations are making significant strides in rehabilitation efforts.
Spotlight on Superhumans Medical Clinic
One standout example is the Superhumans Medical Clinic for War Heroes. Operating three clinics in Ukraine, this organization focuses on the physical and mental rehabilitation of soldiers who have lost limbs in combat. Click Medical plays a crucial role in this process. Each patient is typically provided with one prosthetic socket, which must accommodate their changing limb from the point of amputation through the healing process and beyond. Here, the RevoFit® kit by Click Medical offers a vital solution. By enabling users to self-adjust the fit and comfort of their device, RevoFit® extends the usability of a single socket, providing a customized fit that adapts as the limb changes.
Emerging Trends in Prosthetic Technology
Another promising trend observed at the conference is the growing popularity of 3D-printed sockets as an alternative to traditionally custom-made devices. 3D technology offers a streamlined process, potentially delivering definitive sockets more efficiently. As this technology continues to evolve, it holds great promise for the future of prosthetic care.
Our Commitment
At Click Medical, our commitment is clear: to provide RevoFit® adjustability in both custom-made and 3D-printed devices. We firmly believe that adjustability is the future of prosthetics, offering enhanced comfort and usability for individuals with limb loss.
Our participation in the Rebuild Ukraine Conference reinforced our dedication to this cause and our belief in the power of innovative solutions to transform lives. We look forward to continuing our work in supporting the rehabilitation efforts in Ukraine and beyond as long as this war continues…
“Attending the Rebuild Ukraine Exhibition awakened in me the fact that this war is not close to being over and the rebuilding will continue for years to come. I hope no one forgets that this country needs our help.”
