Sarah Frutchey, CTPO, was introduced to the fascinating world of the O&P industry by her advisor at Saint Petersburg College. Prior to that moment, Sarah had been unaware of this field’s existence. She admits, “You see people with prosthetic limbs out in public, and it never really crosses your mind—where did they get that?” However, as someone who is hands-on and loves being creative, Sarah immediately jumped into the Prosthetic and Orthotic Technician program, realizing that she had found her true calling. She explains, “I can’t imagine doing anything else! I love making things and being creative. There’s a lot of creativity on the technical side, and I prefer the behind-the-scenes aspect of it.”
After graduating from the O&P Tech program in 2016, Sarah relocated to North Carolina, where she has been working with her team at Hanger Clinic ever since. As a technician, Sarah emphasizes the importance of being in sync with the clinicians to develop innovative designs for their patients. Collaboration and shared understanding are key elements in coming up with clever solutions.
During her time in the lab, Sarah came across Click’s adjustable RevoFit® Kits. Sarah was amazed by this concept and recognized its potential to greatly improve the lives of patients. She recalls her initial impression, saying, “This is really cool! Now patients have adjustability in their socket, instead of having to take it off and put new socks on!”
Eager to learn more about Click’s innovative technology, Sarah discovered Click Academy—our online educational platform designed specifically for the O&P industry. She emphasizes the value of these courses for both technicians and clinicians, as Click Academy provides crucial knowledge and creative designs. Having access to this information right from the start allows professionals like Sarah to provide the highest level of care and tailored solutions.
With the launch of the new Click® Reel and the continuous evolution of the RevoFit Kit, Sarah seamlessly transitioned to the new kit with the help of Click Academy. She expresses her satisfaction with the ease of fabrication that these new kits offer. The Click® Reel simply pops right in, saving time and effort. Sarah appreciates the streamlined and efficient nature of the new Click® Reel system, as it enhances her ability to create quality sockets.
Sarah Frutchey’s journey in the O&P industry showcases her passion for creativity and her continuous pursuit of knowledge and innovation. Through her work with the Hanger Clinic team and her adoption of Click’s adjustable RevoFit Kits, Sarah has become a valuable asset in the field, making a difference in the lives of individuals who rely on their prosthetic limbs.
